Our extended family from the south of Holland came to visit on Sunday. Despite the freezing temperatures we had beautiful winter weather with blue skies and sunshine. We rented a car and went to Muiden to visit the castle. The Muiderslot is located at the mouth of the river Vecht, some 15 kilometers southeast of Amsterdam. The castle was build as a stronghold around 1280. It was completely renovated in 2006 and is now open to the public again on weekends only. The one thing I really liked was that there is a large room with lots of knight’s armor and costumes in all sizes for the children. They can dress up as little princesses and knights and play all kind of games in a real castle. You should see how exciting they are. Cora is still a bit small but I am sure I will take her there next year. She’ll love it I’m sure.
